Key Responsibilities
• Maintain financial/accounting, personnel, and other operations systems and procedures in accordance with Futures Group corporate requirements and client (USAID/CDC or other) regulations • Prepare semi-monthly financial reports and submit to HQ within stipulated date in the calendar • File all travel vouchers, expense reports, and financial reports • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, annual inventory, and other financial reports as needed, including required documentation for annual audits in accordance with Ethiopian laws and corporate requirements • Take responsibility for receiving, documenting, and managing all stock and commodities of the project, including forecasting and requisitions to guarantee optimal stock levels at all times • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial, personnel, and other records as required by corporate management and/or Ethiopian law • Process supplier’s payments and bills for hotel accommodations • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements • Manage cash flow; prepare cash forecasts • Manage, disburse, and reconcile office petty cash/ field imprest • Review and prepare budgets for related project activities • Carry out banking duties as required • Make payments to participants at workshops • Prepare paperwork for submission to the accounting staff • Write checks • Perform any other responsibilities as may be directed
Qualifications
• A degree in Finance/Accounting and/or CPA II or equivalent • At least 7-8 years’ experience in Finance/Accounts • Statutory audit experience would be an added advantage • Microsoft office proficiency including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet, and word-processing programs at a highly proficient level • Strong financial, analytical and/or evaluative skills • Problem-solving, decision-making and good judgment skills • Ability to take initiative and/or independently respond to situations • Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframe • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and national language • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, colleagues, and clients • Ability to respond and adapt quickly to changing requirements and competing demands • Professional and mature demeanor and conduct, especially during interactions with the client and its constituents • Confidentiality and team spirit • Ethiopian nationals only • Experience with an organization receiving US Government funding (USAID or CDC) is preferred
